Anaba Tea Room

I am obsessed with this place. Two blocks from our Milwaukee home, there is the cutest store/resturant ever. It's called Anaba Tea and Garden Room. You enter on street level to a charming store with a great gardening collection, tea collection and even bird feeders in the shape of a winnebago. I stumbled upon it a few weeks before Christmas and bought almost all my gifts there.
Down a flight of stairs is a large tea room with an open ceiling to the shop above with vines everywhere.  They serve tea and tea sandwiches during the day.  A perfect place for a girls lunch, shower or just for fun.  They also have a full bar and serve dinner. So Jay and I decided to check it out on Friday night.

We chose to eat in the rooftop greenhouse.  Which is literally that.  A greenhouse and in the summer the roof is open with plants galore.  It's charming and romantic because there are only 4 tables up there!
But the food.  Wow!  We haven't food food like this in milwaukee yet and at a great price.
The menu is full of currys, tofu and lots of seafood.
Jason had the Korean BBQ chicken on top of cilantro noodles.  Delicious!
I had tofu stir fry and we shared the asian hummus for an appetizer.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

One Week Away!

One week and one day until Jason and I get married.
I am so excited I feel like a little kid before summer break.
I can't wait to spend the weekend with family and friends in celebration.
But more importantly, I can't wait to spend my life with Jay as my husband.
I couldn't have met a better person to love and laugh with.

Chicago Bachelorette

This weekend some of my girlfriends threw me a SECOND bachelorette party in Chicago.  A small group of us started the weekend on Friday night at Paris Club.  There was a preset menu of deliciousness including scallops and beets- some of my favorites!
After dinner we were escorted upstairs to a reserved table in Studio Paris complete with table service.  We are talking insane people watching, club atmosphere like I haven't seen in almost a decade.  It was a blast!!
Saturday morning we went for a wedding gown fitting followed by manicures.  In the afternoon we had a champagne party at Benefit Salon, where we each had our make-up done.
Saturday night the entire crowd came over to Becky's condo for gift opening and snacks prior to heading to InnJoy, the bar I met Jason, for an 80s music dance party!
The weekend was amazing and exhausting and a perfect end to my single-girl days.

Milwaukee Admirals Game

Jay and I had two Blackhawks games planned for this week.  I'm so disappointed we won't be able to see the Red Wings destroy the Blackhawks this weekend, but we decided to get our hockey fix elsewhere.  The Milwaukee Admirals play right downtown at The Bradley Center, were the Bucks play as well.  Tickets are less than $20 and every seat is a good seat.

The game was filled with tons of gimicky, family friendly contests to get the crowd involved.  Before the game the mascot even rides around in a giant pirate ship, which the kids loved.  We were surprised to find Pat McCurdy, an old Wisconsin bar favorite, playing between all the periods.  And Jay was so thrilled to find out Ric Flair was in attendance.  Since I had no idea who he was, we spent the remainder of the night at home watching you-tube videos.  Good times.
