There once was a girl who lived about a condo which had been vacant for 18 months. It had been on the market but eventually the owner declared bankruptcy and forecloser on the unit was pending. The girl who lived upstairs heard running water but did not know what to do. The owner of the unit did not return calls. Eventually, it became apparent that water was pouring out of the basement windows. After much research, the girl and her neighbor discovered the unit downstairs was not yet owned by the bank. They contacted the owner, his lawyers but no one returned their calls. After consulting a lawyer of their own, they hired a locksmith.
Once inside they hear what sounded like a waterfall. In the shower, a part of the hand had broken off and water was shooting everywhere. Luckily the drain in the shower was helping the situation....

However, once the girl went to the basement and looked in the bedroom directly below the bathroom, she found the ceiling had collapsed. Water was everywhere and still seeping through the ceiling.

The doors were all so warped they would not open without force. Drywall all over the floor and closets had mold....gross.

The girl and her neighbor had to turn off the water for the entire building, hired a plumber to fix the shower so they could turn back on the water in the building. They disconnected all the remaining showers, sinks and toliets in that unit. And rented large fans to try to dry the area until the owner or the association could have their insurance evaluate damage and get the drywall/carpet removed as soon as possible.
