Tis the Season
Salvation Army bells are ringing, Toys for Tots drives and Mitten trees are filling work lobbies, people line up to volunteer at soup kitchens. I'm all for these things and other holiday spirited charity drives like Share-a-Christmas.
I thought I'd share some really cool organization where you can donate old stuff year round. Let's be honest, these things are just cluttering our homes anyhow!
Donate Old Eye Glasses
Pearl Vision uses these to make glasses for low income families

Donate Old Cell Phones
Verizon Hopeline- uses these phones for domestic violence victims.
T Mobile Huddle- uses these for single parents
Sprint- Donates to K-12 educational programs
Donate Old Tennis Shoes
Nike Reuse a Shoe uses them to make basketball courts and other playground materials

Cousin Kate's Bachelorette
This weekend we celebrated Katie's upcoming wedding with a bachelorette party. Katie and her friend Suzi came from Florida along with a handful of Grand Rapids girls. We started the night with cocktails and appys at my house and then took a cardio strip tease class. The class was in a small dance studio and the seven of us were giggling while attempting the moves. It was hilarious. We ended the evening with plenty of Mexican food and margaritas- sexy yeah?

OBAMA'S VICTORY
Andi had us over for a potluck dinner tonight to watch the election results roll in. After dinner we headed down to Grant Park with 1 million other American's to celebrate Obama's victory. The energy was like nothing I've ever been a part of before. The streets were crowded for as far as you could see. People of all ages and types were cheering! Everyone wasw friendly and excited, but there was no chaos, pushing or danger that I witnessed. The only regret is my camera battery died at the very start of Obama's speech. Hopefully I will have more photos from friends in the near future!
