Thanksgiving Day Parade

In my past decade of living in Chicago, any Thanksgiving where I am not able to leave town, I don't miss the Thanksgiving Day Parade! I love the bands playing the first Christmas songs of the year....

and who doesn't love the balloons?!

Jason was very happy to see who came down the street next...

Scooby Doo!!
Happy Thanksgiving to my friends and family who I was not able to celebrate with this year.

Amanda and Aaron's Baby Shower/ Cocktail Party

This weekend I co-hosted a cocktail party celebrating Amanda and Aaron expected baby. Amanda is due in Feb. and looks adorable. The party was held on the 30th floor in a beautiful party room overlooking Lake Michigan. We decorated with flowers and candlelight. Guests brought unwrapped gifts, set out to display. Friends and family traveled from Ohio, Wisconsin and Michigan to join the celebration! It was a great party for a great friend.

45 Pound Pumpkin Turned Jack-O-Lantern.

As it turns out, Jason is a pumpkin carving perfectionist. And I made whole lot of roasted pumpkin seeds, if anyone would like some leftovers.

Andrea's Visit

As we grow older, friends start to feel more and more like family. Distance is no obstacle. Andrea came to visit from L.A. for the weekend a few weeks back. This was her first visit since Annie's 30th birthday 2 years ago. We had an amazing time just goofing around.

Friday night the three of us had sushi at Bob Sans.

Saturday morning started with brunch at Orange, Jason joined us. Then we spent the rest of the day walking around millennium park and having a cocktail on the roof of Wit Hotel.

That evening Jay, Andrea and I had dinner at Nacional 27 before having a dance off at InnJoy into the wee hours of the morning.

Overall, it was a perfect weekend, I wish I could repeat more often. Come back soon, Andrea.
