One of my favorite TenCate family traditions is that of the baby bassinet. Each member of the family, starting with my father's siblings and cousins, have slept in this crib as a baby. Since I was the youngest of all the 9 cousins/second cousin's in my generation, this bassinet stayed in our living room until I was in high school. Family members ship the bassinet across country each time a new baby is born. Gold plaques line the crib with the names and birthdates of those who've slept in it.
Here Elizabeth looks up at my dad, Uncle Dan and Aunt Joan's names.
Off to the side is my name, along with my cousins' names.
